I can add a default note to all images and other media so that it shows up like
Figure 1.2: Caption text (CC by SA).
or something like that (I've never seen "CC by SA" before--is that really what the text should say?). Then we could specify for individual files, if there are situation where a particular file has a different license.
But is it really necessary to have this after every image everywhere? Can we say somewhere "all images licensed by CC unless otherwise specified" or something?
Another thought is do to what is normal for Github repos, which is to simply include a LICENSE.txt file in the repo. In fact there is already one there that specifies the MIT license.
Finally, on the landing page, It states explicitly that MUTOR materials are "license free". Should that be changed?
sorry John, yes, you are right, it should be: CC BY-SA I do really agree with you that we write somewhere "all images licensed by CC" and that's what I suggested, but it was not clear enough for Goran, he suggested to put it after every image, and i then just found a compromise: write it on the bottom of each Unis...
and yes, we must change the text: It states explicitly that MUTOR materials are "license free".
Ok I see. Goran is ok with a note at the end of each unit instead of after every image? It's easy to add to every image, I just think it makes everything a bit messy.
hi John, I will ask the counsel form HOOU, maybe it should be ok, if we just Wirte a place about all the images. I will let you know, next week! :-)
Ok great, thanks!
The copyright status for every image is different, and are licensed under different terms. Maybe sometimes we can only use it but can't redistribute it or change it. But these are all specified in the details on creativecommons.org, so I suggest we can put a link like this (CC BY-SA 4.0).
Sometimes some images do have a special license that's not CC (like this).
Also, what should we do if we made the images ourselves but based on copyrighted content? (e.g. from a book?)
hi i have a meeting with the MMKH because the copyright.
If it not clear, we could do a short meeting tomorrow...

Ok, that's clear. We will have to find a nice strategy/design for the license information because to do it on every image seems quite clumsy. There are a lot of things to include.
Maybe the license information appears when the mouse hovers on top of the image?
@cheungtszhim
After a meeting with Goran, we should write the Lizenz information for all the images, videos, patches and texts.
I suggest, we create a new menu "Lizenz and download" we could write here the download link and general Lizenz info for animations, audios, patches and text. "CC by SA" (The Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike License is one of the licenses created by the Creative Commons project.)
And for images, we should write down the info individuelle (in each Units). We could write a extra punt after the references "Lizenz" and should write down like figures 1.2-1.6 made by Janina Luckow and CC by SA; or we could write the info direct under the images...
What do you think? @maccallum @cheungtszhim @victorpiano
