The game crashed whilst unexpected error Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "com.github.kay9.dragonmounts.dragon.breed.DragonBreed.hatchParticles()" because "breed" is null #178

I was holding right mouse button with default dragon egg equipped and placing many of them, at some point the game crashed.

Currently MinecraftForge's internal development has currently hit the fan due to some drama that sparked within the Forge's team.

As a result, versions above the recommended forge version for 1.20.1 can cause mods to fail catastrophically, as you've seen.

I recommend switching to the recommended Forge version and see if the problem persists.

In the meantime im currently working to create the best compatible despite the situations, sit tight!
