pipe tier III don't get full with gas or steam(high) #1111

Issue description

pipe tier III don't get full with gas or steam(high), i have a long pipe and it says it only full up to 81% 60/69 units

Reproduction steps

load the save, the go to gas station near my village and see the pipe with oil it wont get full, also in my oil refinery is a pipe III with steam(high) that don't get full asswell

This is happening because the pipes connected to the T3 pipes are T2 pipes. T2 pipes internally stack 2 products instead of 3. The connector are able to improve the stacking but if T2 can't keep up with supply, the T3 pipe fills with products stacked in quantity of 2.

but if there is no demand for the product at the endpoint, the internal storage should be filled regardless of whether one is T3 and the other is T2

Going to add to this as well. Building a new smelting centre, and testing pipe connections shows same oddity. Using a T3 pipe as backbone, it refuses to fill up completely (with oxygen) if there are T2 or T1 pipes in the network. This may result in product shortage as the air seperator won't output despite there being spare pipe capacity to do so.

Think the only way to resolve is build entire network with same tier pipes, which is unnecessary.
