Dithering in NVIDIA profile not changing #291

I can't adjust Dithering in NVIDIA controller profile

It's still possible to change Dithering for the active display. Applying preexisting dithering profiles works too.

Doesn't work in 9.7.1.0 Worked in 9.6.0.0 I reinstalled my NVIDIA drivers between the updates, as a regular clean install, without DDU.

Parhaps it's related - the dithering for my Samsung monitor is shown as Auto: 8-bit Temporal, when previously it was 6-bit. Also, my LG CX TV startup dithering isn't Auto anymore. I couldn't find what determines the initial / default dithering modes. Luckily the startup profiles are applied.

So changing the dithering settings of existing profiles is not working for you anymore? I can't reproduce that here. What changed in one of the more recent versions was the detection of the "Auto" variant. Generally you'll see that when dithering is set to "Auto" (= the default behavior) it will normally be disabled, except when using:

In those cases 6/8-bit temporal dithering should automatically be activated (by NVIDIA/Windows, not ColorControl). If you customize the settings they should stay active, even after a reboot (at least that's my experience).
