Other than not hanging and consuming 100% cpu, what should volumeicon's behaviour be when pulseaudio gets killed. Should it gracefully exit, or try to get back into a working state when pulseaudio gets started back up again ?
Ideally, it should just go in an inactive mode if no backend is available; reactivate when PA becomes avail. Maybe gray out the icon while inactive.
The issue is fixed in 9d034ba6afbcd31ecab90e81489a63f4246b8762.

volumeicon hangs and consumes 100% cpu.
