The CFDE Gene WG was created based on a consensus that we need the CF DCCs to interoperate at the gene level. The aim is to potentially provide a resource and a service that will enable researchers to search for CF DCC data, and external data, centered around a gene, including variants, metabolites, isoforms, protein product, or other molecular entities. By specifying a gene as the search term, users should be able to fetch data from the DCCs to obtain a report in the form of a gene landing page with all the information presented in a user-friendly manner. To achieve this goal several technical issues need to be resolved.
