Can't install update #499

The 0.53 update can't be automatically installed:

The reason is:

11/13/15 2:15:39.959 PM MacDown[25201]: NSURLSession/NSURLConnection HTTP load failed (kCFStreamErrorDomainSSL, -9802)

I think this is caused by the TLS 1.2 requirement. The only workaround is to manually download the update.

Can the update notes be modified to reflect this? Those seemed to load OK.

Switched to homebrew

It has been two years and I don't think this happens recently; if so please leave reply and this issue will be re-opened.

This is happening again updating from 0.7.1 to the latest version. Someone mentioned it in the Gitter channel, and I can reproduce it too.
