Is it possible to control app on PC (Cubase Daw which is in background)?

I'm using other app on top and want to do some action on Cubase with Macro Deck.

If you can control the program with keyboard shortcuts, you could use AutoHotkey & the AutoHotkey plugin to send keystrokes directly to the program.
