Sorry, this is a lot! should have made a pull request back in early june when i fixed that ms_interp bug. the biggest change here is that you can now pass prodname_filter into ms_retrieve, ms_munge, and ms_derive, and it will only operate on that prodname. so it could be 'stream_chemistry', 'discharge', etc. remember, if you ever need to make a systemic change across lots of files, i can show you how to do that with sed and perl.
