When I first opened the application, I opened it through the itch launcher. I messed around with the settings, tested some things out, customized my application, and ultimately decided it was something I wanted to try to use more often, so I pinned the application to my task bar.
The next time I opened the application (through my taskbar) I opened up to the application in it's default state. I tried launching through itch again, and when I did the application was back to how I set it up.

Notably: If I make changes to the taskbar version, they do save, but I didn't see an easy way to bring the few hours of work I had already put in
