Added to the design requirement:
1 x MCP2515 CAN board Further research on CAN PIO is needed. Initial versions will use SPI/DMA interface for network communication
1 x 4-channel bi-directional logic level converter Allow 5v communication with MCP2515 board
1 x resistor (value TBD) Step down MCP2515 5v INT pin. Value will be determined depending on the pin current/sink
Light switch external modules have to be determined
Current setup:
Justifications: -- 4-channel bi-directional logic converter -- Provides higher voltage for the network CAN/I2C communication Provides native voltage interfacing with the Neopixel hardware
-- HW-040 rotary encoder PCB breakout PCB based implementation provides cleaner signal output (based on oscilloscope testing, real results TBD) Provides basic left/right/press user interface
Observations: A 2-channel logic converter is not suitable for this application, as the communication lines, I2C or CAN require two outputs, leaving no channels for the neopixel ring.
Additions: Given the right mechanical design, a capacitative sensor could be added to the design
