Hi, the old .sh files have long stop been supported. Instead the project uses cmake presets, I updated the read me file with the command you can use in a terminal in order to setup the project with CMake presets.
Aside from that the nightly build Should be able to work on any system (yes, that includes even the Linux ones) by just putting the files from the zip file to the game's folder.
DOOM BFA DOES NOT support (right now) Vulkan and instead it's still using good ole OpenGL
Describe the bug:
Simply, the project fails to compile. I am sad durg. I cannot slay my demons in HD, and I want to.
To Reproduce
Follow linux instructions on the repository to compile for Ubuntu Linux:
Expected behavior
The project compiles successfully, without warnings or critical errors, per its specific instructions and dependencies.

Additional context
First of all, fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04 this was tested on. Steam works via snap store, proton works, all wine dependencies installed for dxvk and vk3d compatibility in multiarch, game starts just fine in Vulkan and runs up to the first-encounter Lost Soul cutscene.
It doesn't crash, buuuut you'd better have sunglasses on. Especially when playing at night. The visual artifacting is a doozy.
Fire shader is displayed on Lost Soul and destroys game viewport when reflected against the window glass, and basically ends the game for me, presenting me with unplayable and blinding graphical state that appears to look like Windows XP after it crashes with super smeary graphics and visible render cards obstructing player view. It makes it extremely difficult to see where you're aiming with the broken shaders.
This seems to only happen with the Lost Soul's fire shader, which is just baffling. Keep in mind, these are stock issues, so I came here hoping for a fix with a source port (obviously newer, expect it to work on Vulkan on modern NVIDIA drivers)
Clearing the shader cache from steam didn't resolve the problem. Requiring a modern patch for the game with working vulkan shaders in my case, so I came here.
I have a save file at where the bug occours, if the maintainers want it, make a request to me.
(i. e.: the reason I'm looking for a source port is to fix/optimize shader issues encountered in Vulkan with the original Steam release without turning bloom and graphical quality settings down)
Hopefully we get a working build again that doesn't require me to cope with Windows XP era graphical fidelity to finish this game.
Cheers.
