Reason, currently gemini-1.5-flash is available for free. Though personally i prefer paid APIs, but given an API provided for free by Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, it makes it easy to do prototypes and playaround and test things when you are not sure what you are trying to achieve.

And i would only imagine this would also add to ell user base, you know people love to try out things which are free. BTW, I repeat, ell is really good and easy to work with.

Google just made Gemini compatible with OpenAi SDK. Cheers 🥂
