External references, such as a standards document, or specification?

Java environments (e.g. Java 6, Android 2.2, App Engine 1.3.7, or All)?

All.

Please describe the feature requested.

Google API's support a "fields" query parameter that allows a client to specify
which fields to include in a partial JSON response. It is not documented
externally yet, but it should work with JSON as well.
