[Eyecandy] New GFX for upgraded Buildings #25

Youtube user "godleydemon" sent me a message that he made some gfx for upgraded turret buildings, I'm not at my work machine so I post here instead, maybe someone can add 'em realy quick :)

Oh cool , he made png for upgrading ? he also made them for the harverser

+1 Someone should implement this :) I'm just a simple wiki maker and bug helper :)

ok, it's working now but i can't push it to the repository. can someone give me a pointer how to create a pull request with my local changes?

@Elosanda You have to push your changes to your own repository first, then click the "pull request" button from your repo's main page.

you guys are very welcome, I can create some harvester upgrade png's as well. But I was having some problems on what I should do to them, lol. I thought about adding more stacks for lvl 2 and for lvl 3 another stack and a red glow in the eye. What are your guys's thoughts on this?

thanks for your efforts! would be nice though, if you keep the frames to the same size. on your turret graphics you were missing the borders, btw ;)

oh my bad, can you give me a picture of what it looks like in game and I can edit them up a little?

@godleydemon: everything is fine with the turrets now, i already added the borders (original turrets were 256x32, yours were 248x30)

ok thankyou, sorry about that, I thought the borders were right on. But I was doing it at around 5 am, lol

no, because its for all graphic enhancements, I'm working on other ones. I just played the new compiled jar with my gfx's in it. Looks awesome, XD but I see some things I can do to the turrets to make them look a little better I might try. Will be working on a updated harvester gfx and a small little robot for possible future use.

@Maescool yeah just kind of playing around with it all right now, I'm going to be talking to some fellow pixel developers out there that made a lot of gfx's for pokemon games. There no to hard to do, but they do have some experience and maybe we can get a little group going here on basically, recreating and making this game better. One of the things that kind of annoys me is the character, he looks more like an english explorer then a steam punk character. I would have liked to have seen more of a steam punkish look to him. Like goggles instead of a goofy hat. So I thought of having my gfx team do several character designs to try and flesh out a decent looking steam punk cast. An alternative design may even be a character select for options, like they have in terraria. But thats something for later I think.

little Robot pet thingy: Robot

thought we might be able to use this. Been playing around with a few gears and trying animations with them. This has a small steam animation above it. I probably have it slightly wrong, but I have no way to test this, as I don't know how to program java really almost at all. If someone could test this in game it would be awesome.

Maybe change the imported png's of the mummy to yours so you can test it

the funny bit is that, I used the mummy animation as a template to find the bottom most pixel and have the robot rest on that pixel. Once everything was done I just deleted that bottom most layer. The problem I'm having though is I think I messed up the steam animation. I bet its going to look horrid lol. I have no idea how to compile java code, and everytime I've ever tried I"ve messed it up XD

started work on the upgraded harvester png, working on the first level up now. Adding an extra smoke stack to the top, will experiment with a few different options (steam?) Will upload once completed.

thanks for testing them out ^.- hope everyone else likes them too. I wasn't sure how the blinking red light would work in the animation. I ran a few local tests by making it a gif, and it seemed to work pretty good. But I won't know how it really looks until I get in game with it. Always exciting to see some of my own work in this game XD

Tried them out, pretty neat. The big score numbers above the harvesters seem to block out the pipes on top though. Maybe that should be a bar instead of numbers...

@Flet how did the blinking of the harvesters at max level look? Because they are supposed to blink with a little red light in the center.

whatchya guys think? These are just three orbs that can be used as a sort of power up orb. They are easily distinguished between the coins and are exactly the same size as the largest coin in the game. They pulse rather nicely and I think would be a nice addition.

For the falling animation: I think we(you) need to decide if we have either one direction or all 8 (not 4 like you showed here) I wanted to integrate it but can't get further with this...

I will work on integrating th custom bases (some extra coding work needs to get done for that) Are your turrets already in the game?
