Add error handling to server #5

(Mozo wrote this in my notebook, and I don't know what it means exactly, but it sounds good).

Server will catch timeout errors on commanding (can happen if we have the IP but the board then d/c'd). Not sure what other errors we need to handle? The server is also reporting connection status better now.
