It needs to be very easy for collaborators to communicate, especially artists and game designers, but also programmers too. I am proposing that you make a Discord server specifically for this project. You can make better use of Discord's features to make collaboration and communication easier. These features include:
forum channels (for dedicated discussions on hyper specific topics)
GitHub webhook integration so that new commits, issues, etc, get pushed to a specific channel, to keep everyone in the loop when updates are made
dedicated channels for artists, programming, etc
events and voice channels (for regularly scheduled meetings)
custom roles (for selective pinging)
people not having to scroll down to the "2024-collab-jab" channel of the GGS Discord server, etc
Ideally, this Discord server, along with this GitHub (and a Google Drive to upload art assets), would be the one of the only places collaborators would need to visit to contribute. If you need help setting up the discord server, let me know.
