I can't really say what you could've done better, as my programming knowledge isnt that advanced yet. However, i can tell you what i like. The initial drawing of the boxes is truly mesmerizing. Interesting idea to mess with the framerate when you click the mouse, but it works really well. It makes it possible to get a better glimpse of what is actually happening. Good job on making the program screensize responsive as well.
