MaiZure, your diagrams are great, keep it up. Will you publish the "source" for those images?

Thanks! All the diagrams were hand-crafted in PowerPoint. While that workflow was fast for me, it's not great for collaboration. I underestimated the general interest in the project. I'm considering porting the diagrams to something more accessible...LaTeX/TikZ comes to mind. Any other suggestions?

I don't personally have a recommendation. One user on a forum suggested Dia.

Whenever I use a tool that lets me define the diagram declaratively, I hit a wall eventually because I'll want to express something that can't be expressed in the tool's language. (I don't know how expressive Dia's language is or is not.)

Hand-crafted images don't have those limits, but then you lose the advantages of working with source code...

Diagramming is hard.
