I gave it a try and added a very simple step-by-step guide to contributing on GitHub.

The file has no pictures yet, maybe this could be an additional issue? I have a lot to do right now and sadly will be too busy to fight with my laptop over how to do a proper screenshot for a while. Therefore, I hope the text I have written helps also.
