MP4 files won't play on Bravia without a subtitle file #3

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Fire up UMS
2. Browse on TV to the folder containing the video files
3. Try to play it

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

If I've added a subtitle file (.srt) with a matching name to the original MP4
file it will play perfectly fine, but if I try to play that very same file
without a matching subtitle file it will load a black screen and checking the
timeline it will be skipping 3 seconds ahead all the time (00:00:00 goes to
00:00:03 then 00:00:06, etc) without sending any video and/or sound to the TV.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

UMS 1.0.1, Windows 7 x64, JRE 1.7.0.2 (64-bit)

Please provide any additional information below.

Sony Bravia KDL-40EX405

Attached you may find my debug.log as well as config file.

Hi, thanks for the information.
Just to double-check before I test for myself, is
Hells.Kitchen.US.S10E01.PDTV.x264-LOL one of the problematic files?

Yup, but ANY TV show downloaded from EZTV that's on a MP4 format suffers with
the very same issue. If you'd like to troubleshoot or any help from my end, let
me know and we can schedule some time to run over stuff and perhaps do a "live"
testing.

Is this still valid? I can't stream any mpeg4 videos, mencoder throws all kind
of errors. I suspect it is a generic fault since it is normally possible to
stream about 1 hour before the crash occurs (or crash it stops...). This has
been seen on other sites with SVTPlay which uses mpeg4 video in flash
contianer. There is no issue for me with h264 videos in mp4 container...
