Custom template does not work #564

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem? (Be *specific*)
1. I have created a custom post type
2. than I click on View Sample Templates for this content type
3. than I save single-custompost.php in the right folder
4. but nothing changes and I have always the rendering of my single.php file

Is it normal?

Does the problem continue if you disable all other plugins? (plugin
conflicts cause a LOT of problems, so please isolate the problem)

Yes the problem continue.

Template routing is one of the weakest features of WP and one of the most
difficult to debug. I'm not sure if anything has changed in 3.9.1. To be
sure, is your post-type named "custompost" and are you viewing a single page of
that type?
