@remo233 Any other info you can give us? ManageIQ versions, errors from the logs?
@remo233 do you see metrics in the regular UI? Wondering if it is a self-service UI issue or the metrics are simply not collected
Hi agrare and fryguy,
I think it's manageiq self-service issue and also I connected the ceilometer in OpenStack cloud provider.
@remo233 so you can see metrics in the classic UI but not the self-service UI?
Yes Adam. I can saw metrics in classic ui.

Great thanks @remo233 just wanted to double check before assigning this out to providers vs UI team. @jeffibm can you investigate this issue?
Hi @jeffibm
Any update on this ?
We tried to debug this yesterday and got stuck due to the availability of data in the local env. Will work on this soon..
cc @Fryguy ,
VMware vCenter
provider (vsphere002
) in local envSettings/Region/C&U collections
- Clusters
and datastore
switches are on to select allSettings/Zone/Server Roles
- Capacity & Utilization Coordination
, Data Collector
, and Data Processor
options are ON under default ZoneMetric::Capture.perf_capture_timer(ManageIQ::Providers::Vmware::InfraManager.third.id)
Utilisation
button was active and we saw the below screen
However, I am not sure how to cross-check these data with the UI-service repo. I cannot find a record in ui-service related to the newly created provider in ui-classic.
You would have to create a VM through a service in the catalog as opposed to directly. Easiest way is to create a service catalog item, then actually order it through the service UI (then you know it's one you can see on the service UI side)
Hi jeffrey bonson and frey,
Okay. now i can see the metrics in aws ec2 in manageiq. But , can't see any metrics in openstack and also the utilization option is not enabled when viewing openstack vm.

Note: I connected ceilometer in openstack as well as in manageiq. Thanks & Regards S.Monish | IND: +919150725988

Hey @remo233 , I have to get some clarification on how to reproduce this via ui-services as mentioned here in https://github.com/ManageIQ/manageiq/issues/21938#issuecomment-1180775982 Once I get the details will update here soon.
Hi jeffibm,
We created a vm via self service portal but.. then also i cannot able to see the metrics..
is it possible for you to give me a database via gitter?
@jeffibm we should be able to reproduce this without requiring a database from @remo233
Hi @jeffibm and @agrare ,
In your Staging environment, you are able to see the metrics in self-service UI ?
Hi @jeffibm ,
Have you checked this ?
I haven't been able to checked this yet. will get on to this soon.
Hi Jeffibm,
Is there any update on the same.
Hey @remo233 , I am currently on it. will update you very soon.
Hey @remo233, so after some digging, it seems like the utilization charts are designed to only show data for the last hour and nothing else unlike the charts in the admin ui which let you select from multiple options. I'm not sure why this is the case, @Fryguy, @agrare do either of you know?
The provider dashboard is an at-a-glance view of your current inventory and status, so I would expect only recent data there without options.

In that case @remo233, would you be able to confirm whether or not you can see vm data from the past hour?

Hi,
I'm using appliance manageiq and not the dev mode.
Now, I'm facing another issue in the self-service portal. when I provision a VM in manageiq. I cant see metrics there.
Also, I tried with the OpenStack cloud provider and in OpenStack, i enabled ceilometer and shared the screenshot below.
