What new or enhanced feature are you proposing?

Currently dynatree build it's tree like a tree-control

But i would like to have a forest control

Sot it looks like the tree had no single starting point. My guess it would only 
need some css changes and a js option to turn this on or off

What goal would this enhancement help you achieve?

We need a tree with multiple root nodes (visible root nodes), so this fix would 
help it to show it to the users that the tree is a forest instead of a tree

As of 2014 Dynatree is feature frozen.
Please have a look at Fancytree (sequel of DynaTree 1.x): chances are good that 
the problem was resolved / the requested featuer is already implemented.
Please open a new issue there otherwise:
