Sorry for the long diff, my text editor automatically removes trailing whitespace at the end of lines.

Changes:

Added a paragraph about issues with reproducibility when manually installing software
Changed "pip distributes software written in Perl" to "pip distributes software written in Python"
Added myself to metadata.yml
