Manim install failed - Githubissues

Preliminaries

[x ] I have followed the latest version of the installation instructions.
[x ] I have checked the troubleshooting page and my problem is either not mentioned there, or the solution given there does not help.

Description of error

Can't run samples in Gallery that use text. I get the same "Invalid data found when processing input" error in any sample file with text in it. The first two tutorial scene.py files run fine.

Here is what I see when attempting the first text-containing scene:

The file /Users/michaelgreene/manimProject/media/videos/ManimCELogo/480p15/ManimCELogo.mp4 does not exist.

I installed manim on a mac mini m1 that had just been completely erased and restored. Literally factory reset new.

Followed the instructions for creating a rosetta version of homebrew, and then proceeded down the steps at https://docs.manim.community/en/v0.4.0/installation/mac.html . Everything was proceeding without issue until I got to

At that point the install process started throwing errors. Here is the output starting at the above command:

The missing dvisvgm reference doesn't seem to matter as dvisvgm is already installed and it's later than version 2.4 per the troubleshooting page. The error following wasysym is unresolved

I continued the manim installation process without issue. I then started the tutorials and got through the first two scene.py steps without issue.

It wasn't until I attempted the first sample in the gallery that manim failed.

At that point I went to the troubleshooting page and noticed the comment about fonts needing to be built using the following command.

Which failed on a permission issue. So I reran it with

fmtutil -sys --all The output of that and everything following the first error is at my icould link below.

So at this point, I'm stuck. I have no idea why manim can't handle text.
