Not able to detect if device is disconnected #61

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open connection connection to desired port
2. Starts reading from the port and receives data
3. Unplugs device

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected read operation (in this case readBytes()) to throw an exception.
Nothing happens.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Running on Windows 7 using jSSC 0.2.8

Please provide any additional information below.
I have not been able to determine any other methods of detecting when device is
unpluged

An exception will be thrown if you attempt to send data. Sucks, but I have run
into this issue as well. Maybe implement a heartbeat?
