Easy way to send from computer to phone (feature request) #22

It is easy to send bitcoins from a phone to a computer- there is a site the
computer can go to that will generate a QR code containing a bitcoin address
that a phone can scan(http://qr.ma.eatgold.com/). It is not so easy to send
coins from a computer to a phone because there is no easy way to get a bitcoin
address on a phone (i.e. in bitcoin-wallet) to a computer. You could send
email from the phone containing the address, but I'm hoping for something
requiring less human work. This assumes the computer does not have a camera,
NFC chip, or Bluetooth.

A way this could be done is to have the computer create a QR code that contains
a web address or something (someone with more knowledge about the Satoshi
bitcoin app may have other ideas) that the phone can scan. The phone then
sends its bitcoin address and optionally a requested amount to that web
address/something. The person operating the computer then confirms the bitcoin
address and amount and the coins are sent.

Sorry, I didn't know how to label this as a "feature request" and not a
"defect".

I'd like to see some solution to this problem as well. However, this must be
discussed much more widely (with the Satashi client developers for example). A
standard must be defined. I don't know much about the standard defining process
surrounding Bitcoin, but posting at forum.bitcoin.org may be a good start.

Why not only share the mobile bitcoin address per intent so one can easily post
per mail/twitter/facebook and others

sorry i just found out how to do this. Just make a long tap on the address and
you can share it ;)

Yes, or press request coins and then press the share button.

How is it solved? There still is no PC client available that can read or
generate QR codes, use NFC or even click bitcoin URIs.

There is now a PC client that generates QR codes for its address:

http://multibit.org/

However, the issue of easily requesting coins from a PC client still remains.

Isn't what you're asking for something that would be accomplished not in the
android app but on the PC side and therefore not a relevant post for this
project?

Ok, I'll close this for now. Needs to be implemented "other app"-side.
