Keypad with "," instead of "." #23

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.The use of a [german] numberpad with separates Numbers with a "," instead of
a "." cann not be used to send Bitcoin amounts wich are not natural numbers
because the separation is not valid with the ","

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I get an Error but i guess the "," should be parsed to an "."

What version of Bitcoin Wallet are you using? On what Android version and
what phone? Don't just state 'most recent', this is not enough info.
latest version on a Desire HD with cusom rom on basis of Android 2.2

If you have problems with particular transactions, what is your Bitcoin
address? If you happen to have transaction IDs, please state them as well.

Please provide any additional information below.

If you type a comma, a point should appear instead. Is this happening?

I know this is not German notation. However, it is consistent with the rest of
the app currently. If we want to localize number formatting (also for other
countries), a lot of more work needs to be done. As far as I know, there are
some serious shortcomings in Android itself, like the default number pad not
showing a comma. I'd rather wait for Android to fix these things first.
