App Crash / Notification Peculiarities #26

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have App open
2. Hit Home Button
3. Wait some time (usually minutes, not seconds) and then click the
notification showing how many connections.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I would expect to get back to the app and be able to use it. Instead, it
crashes or the notification goes away and the number of peers becomes 0 and
rebuilds. If that happens, then it will show the latest block was some time
ago and catch up on the chain.

What version of Bitcoin Wallet are you using? On what Android version and what
phone? Don't just state 'most recent', this is not enough info.

App Version is 1.20 which is the most recent in the market right now. I'm on
Evo 4G with Stock 2.3.3 Rom

Please provide any additional information below.

I've submitted the bug reports via email when it asks, so if you want that
email address to be able to tie those reports with this, I'm happy to forward
it along in private.

This problem has actually gotten worse since I upgraded to 1.20. When I was on
the previously available version in the market, the app wouldn't crash, it
would just rebuild the connections and catch up on the block chain.

I use K9 mail with long poll/push notification imap so I don't believe my data
connection is disconnecting.

Thanks for reporting. I think this issue is might very well be fixed with
Version 1.22 (available in Market). Can you give it a try?

You emailed me yesterday about this. nick@... It seems to be fixed and block
download speeds seem to be much improved. A bit OT but the sync icon in the
notifications never goes away now though. I don't know if that is a regression?

Thanks for the update.

The sync icon sometimes not disappearing is a known regression, yes.
