Background sync eats battery

Just woke up (it's 3:45 in the morning here) from my phone beeping about low 
battery. The app has used 50% of my battery - it was 100% charged when I went 
to bed...

Battery use seems to have grown much worse recently. I've restricted background 
data use for the app, and perhaps that was what made it worse. Perhaps it is 
stuck in some retry loop or similar...

The app itself should have an option to not background sync at all. People have 
said this many times, but whatever...

It's a reason to fix bugs, not to disable features.

Can you send me your logs from within the app (please refer to this ticket)?

Version 3.33 uses bitcoinj 0.11, which eradicated one more potential cause for 
battery drain (constant reconnect when node is unavailable).
