Transaction still "unconfirmed" and "not yet redeemed" after 9 days

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Send coin to phone
2. Immediate notification of incoming coin
3. Wait 9 days
4. App says transaction still pending and unconfirmed
5. BlockExplorer says "not yet redeemed"

I expected the transaction to be confirmed after a few hours or days.  However 
it has been 9 days and the transaction is still grey and I am unable to spend 
because I get the error "Problem sending coins!".

First of all, you are using an old version of Bitcoin Wallet. Can you upgrade 
to 1.22?

Which app does say "pending"? Actually Bitcoin Wallet itself is not using this 
term, is it possible that you are talking about the (Satoshi) PC client? What 
exactly are you seeing on Bitcoin Wallet?

From the Block Explorer I can see that your transaction indeed has been 
confirmed by the network since 2011-07-22.

The "Not yet redeemed" message is normal.

I just upgraded to 1.22.

Bitcoin Wallet's help section says "Pending transactions are greyed out until 
they are confirmed."  You're right the actual interface does not say "pending", 
but my transaction is greyed out.

Nice!  I just heard the cha-ching on my phone and it turns out the upgrade to 
1.22 has fixed the problem.  Thanks!
