support for Electrum server

This is a feature request. It would be nice if you could add support so that 
Bitcoin Wallet becomes a lite client for Electrum. More information here:

It seems that someone is already modifying the BitcoinSpinner ( thin client ) 
to support Electrum server.
But I don't know anything about the status of the project.
Anyway, it will be a great feature.

I'm afraid it's currently very hard to combine the local approach of BitCoinJ 
with the server-based approach of Electrum, BitcoinSpinner and so on.

Also, I think that the community should decide on one standard and then extend 
the current P2P network protocol, implementing the server-side of Electrum in 
existing tools like bitcoind.

I am not willing to put much work into this path, because I do not believe its 
really the right way to go. However, I'd support someone who is willing to do 
the implementation.

Until someone speaks up, I'll close this ticket for now.
