Bitcoins not showing up in Wallet #8

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

I'm not sure if this problem is reproducible. But here's what's happening.

I sent myself some bitcoins in this transaction:

http://blockexplorer.com/address/1L4XUNdtGBMZo7iN5hSCYRVYzUr7M2KWAk

and I've double-checked in multiple ways that this is indeed the address of my
bitcoin-wallet on my phone. But these bitcoins never show up there.

As a possible related behavior, I have multiple peers connected, but my phone
never seems to try to sync the blockchain. It did once, shortly after I
upgraded it, but hasn't tried since then.

I'm on a similar problem atm. I'll let you know if I've got a solution.

I think I have a similar problem. I observed the following:
- with 1.06 the blockchain synced once after install, but after a while it
completely stopped syncing for more than 24h. I could not get it to restart
even after killing the app and restart.
- update to 1.08.
- blockchain sync started very slowly on Edge and aborted after ~3%
- exit app, turn wifi on, start app: blockchain sync starts again up to ~30%,
again aborted although some peers are still connected
- if I exit the app and start again it sometimes starts to sync again. Up to
now I could not get it to finish sync. Maybe some threading problem in the
network layer that prevents additional syncing once it has aborted?

For me, with 1.08, blockchain sync would occasionally freeze and I would have
to wait for my phone to give me the option to force close the app to even get
back to my phone's home screen. After several attempts, the block sync managed
to completely finish, and my bitcoins showed up partway through the syncing
process (likely shortly after that block was verified).

So the app has freezing issues associated with blockchain syncing, but it no
longer fails to realize that coins have been sent to it.

It still, of course, eats battery like its going out of style. :-)

I'll mark this as "started", meaning that there is a first fix (v1.08+) but it
needs to be verified by people who had this problem in the first place.

The blockchain download freezing and battery issues are unrelated and should be
handled in separate bug reports.

Well, for my part, this problem has been solved.

This should finally be fixed with version 1.14.

This issue has been fixed a while ago. For your problem, please use (in the
app) Options > Settings > Report Issue and make sure to tick the "append wallet
dump".
