Provide a way to hide connectivity indicator in notification area #82

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run the application
2. Return to home screen
3. Observe the icon

What is the desired output?

No icon in notification area during normal usage.

What do you see instead?

An icon that provides me with no actionable information.

What version of Bitcoin Wallet are you using? On what Android version and
what phone? Don't just state 'most recent', this is not enough info.

1.52 on ICS on Galaxy Nexus

Please provide any additional information below.

This definitely falls under the 'enhancement' category, but I find myself
force-quitting bitcoin-wallet just to clean up my notification bar. I don't
mind leaving it running so long as I don't have to have one of the limited
positions in the notification bar always taken. A great example of an app
that's flexible about this is 'screebl'. It runs in the background and will
let you decide whether or not to do so invisibly (and you can exit)

Press the back button to exit the app (and release the service, which is
responsible for the connectivity indicator).

I'll accept this ticket as an RFE, requesting the connectivity indicator to be
hidden via user preference.

@david Can you update to version 2.13+ and try again?

Version 2.41 adds a preference for hiding the connectivity indicator.
