Display Problems #11

Hi, did you never had problems with the Display resolution? I have the HI8, not the VI8, but I need always the option "nomodeset" to enter in the boot options. If I miss this option, the display is always black.

The touch driver which you mentioned is working, but I couldn’t rotate the screen. I tested only in the live view session.

Can you paste the output of xrandr?

@andreasb242 If you have the HI8 you need to tell your bootloader the exact resolution of the display instead of nomodeset.

I presume you have a video=1280x800@60 if you followed my steps exactly. If not then you need the video= argument. The catch is that you need to enter the exact resolution of your display (like I stated above). I guess it is video=1920×1200@60

It's to long ago, I don't know exactly what I did, I tried to specify the resolution, but with another command.

I recognize the display is always in portrait mode, not in landscape, as I would expect it (also the BIOS).

I have to try it...

video=1200x1920@60 is working. The display is in portrait mode (even in the BIOS)

Yes that is the correct setting for Hi8.
