Hi Chad, thanks for youre input. It seems like this feature is highly requested and should move up the list of the next features.
I think for a first implementation it would be better to forgo the commerce integration. It seems more complex to make an interface to handle all different commerce solutions.
Also different member states musst be handled. Registration for already logged in member and anonymous member.
Should registered members be displayed in the event details page? If yes how different member types should be handled?
So lot of decisions to make.

I also thought about a way to let visitors register to an event (include ticket prices, ecommerce connection), but thats not yet ready to even start working on it.
This is something we're looking at building for a client - we would forgo the ecommerce connection for now, but would want events to have (multiple attendees), capacity and potentially waiting lists (should an event capacity be reached).
There is more a discussion thread if anyone wants to chime in with thoughts.
