The original Builder icon is yellow, so the elementaryPlus builder icon should be yellow, too:

I also modernized and darkened the VirtualBox icon a bit:

I agree on the Builder icon, could you please change the other sizes as well so I can merge it?

You are right that the current VirtualBox icon is not faithful to the original color, but the new color looks a bit off as well (slightly purple). Also the new edge highlight is off and too bright and the pictogram shadow is missing on the two horizontal bars, see the section on shadows & highlights in HIG.
