https://github.com/mapserver/basemaps/pull/37 changed the files to be downloaded. Use more specific .gitignore rules:

Ignore the downloaded *.zip files
Ignore the extracted contents (README, land_polygons., simplified_land_polygons.)

This change allows changes to boundaries. and seed. to be committed again.

Like before there was no Readme.txt ;-) It is in the downloaded file //data.openstreetmapdata.com/simplified-land-polygons-complete-3857.zip
