Additional note - I created a new version of this layer with dummy dates for each feature just to see what effect it would have to have time info for each feature. The layer still appears zoomed way in over the ocean off coast of West Africa. (The thumbnail appears to have accurately captured a screenshot of the data over North America though). Layer link is https://staging.mapstory.org/layers/usa_historical_markers_time_747a1931. Screenshot and dataset attached. usa_historical_markers_dif_time.xlsx
As a user, I am trying to upload the following dataset as a StoryLayer:
Historic Markers (2).zip
I uploaded this zipped shapefile. It has about 81,000 point features. The upload was successful. Link to layer detail page - https://mapstory.org/layers/usa_historical_markers_9a11083a.
But on the StoryLayer detail page, the map is zoomed in over the ocean off the coast of West Africa (I assume the geographic center of Earth on our map canvas):
When I zoom out and pan over to USA, I see that my features are there:
As a user, I expect that the uploader will set a viewing bounds based on the data in my layer. Since all the features in my layer are in the USA, the map viewer should be focused on North America.
I uploaded this layer to mapstory.org prod on June 11 using Chrome Browser version Version 66.0.3359.139
