The biggest hurdle to setting Maptio up locally is that we, sadly, rely on external services that aren't open source.
We don't have the resources right now to invest into weaning ourselves off of those dependencies, but want to at least make it easier to get started with self-hosting by providing instructions for setting up those services. Here's instructions for setting up Auth0.
