3 years ago you are right about the fact that it need to be updated but i think this isn't the way to do it because it would be wiser to point to https://packages.vmware.com/tools/releases/latest/windows/x64/ since the most up to date vmware might contains fixes for graphical glitches
Linked vmware tools version goes to '/latest/' but now that the linked version of vmware tools isn't the latest anymore the link got broken, I just replaced it with the path that works
