winetricks vcrun2013 sha1sum mismatch #464

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I guess MS updated the file and now winetricks is no longer able to detect it
correctly. I just downloaded the newest winetricks and the problem is still
present.

This can be silly but I'm going mad by trying to fix this.

I'm a noob on IT, but I can handle somethings but the answer to this problem
that Austin fixed is one that I don't.

Can someone explain in a way for a "normal/noob" person to understand how can
this be fixed ? What is suppose to be done ?

Thanks on any future help/answer.

You need to update winetricks; note that it has moved from Google code to
Github, so if you're searching here, you're already out of date :)

Go to https://github.com/Winetricks/winetricks/ to get the latest version of
Winetricks (20150706 as of this writing).

Thank you so much for your reply :))

I ran an update on winetricks by just clicking on "Update Winetricks" so that
vcrun2012 and vcrun2013 could be seen.

I could download and install vcrun2012, but vcrun2013 gives me still sha1sum
mismatch.

When clicking in "Update Wintricks" I could see an URL in the description of
the confirm window that showed, I followed the URL and it sent me to
http://winetricks.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/winetricks.

There I could see the version of the update, which is 20141125. But then you
said that the last version is 20150706....

If updating like I did resulted in updating in an "old version" I ask if there
is another way to update....

I forgot to mention but I'm using macosx.

Thank you very much for the reply again!

I don't know what tool you're using to update winetricks, but it is out of
date. You can get the latest winetricks script here:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Winetricks/winetricks/master/src/winetricks

download that, chmod +x, and replace the current version you're using (you can
run `which -a winetricks` to find where the script is located on your system
(assuming it is in $PATH).

I'd advise reporting this to whatever tool you're using on OSX.

I'm using Wineskin (the wrapper version is 2.6.0).

I used the "which -a winetricks" command on terminal but I had no answer, I hit
enter and it jumps to another blank line.

I went to Wineskin>Contents>Resources and only found winetricks.log and
winetricksInstalled.plist.

But I have downloaded the link of the newest version of winetricks in .txt.

What should I do ? (I'm feeling like a newborn baby for asking this)

You'll need to ask Wineskin, I'm not familiar with it.

Ok I'll do that.

I may have cracked my head but you sir have made my eyes so much wider now and
I guess I can find a solution on Wineskin.

Thank you very much, with only those few tips you gave me I can now see this
problem straight :)).
