Add unittests #42

This PR:

fixes all existing unit tests (run green)
adds more unit tests to cover most of the functionality already implemented.
provides a coverage report for unit tests.
adds a github action pipeline which runs the unit tests and builds the application.

It is almost impossible refactor without unit tests.
Unit tests also help to make sure that the code is working the way intended.
