Feature Requests #193

Hi, so far im loving this! Its absolutely fantastic! I have a few requests if its at all possible;

Could you include Deezer, Soundcloud, Google, DJCity & TheMashup into the source options?

A way to view multiple pieces of artwork if found that you can decide which one to use? (assuming they aren't identical)

A way to auto tag cover art if 0 art is found at all with a certain piece of locally hosted art?

Thanks so much!

Hello,

  1. Deezer is already added. You can get the unreleased version from the Actions tab to test it out.
  2. We decided to not add SoundCloud as its tags are very low quality (sometimes the "artist" is just the uploader and title is the artist + title, etc etc)
  3. As for Google - there is no uniform way to get the tags, so it's kinda impossible to add.
  4. DJCity - will look into it
  5. TheMashup - it seems to require registration / invite, so most likely wont consider.
  6. As for the multiple artworks - well this is AUTOtagger, so for now we decided to make it fully auto. Picking artwork (or for that matter the whole result) would require refactor and possibly another section which isn't "auto". So won't be an option for now.
  7. The local files - I don't know what you mean by "locally hosted art". 1T can't magically identify correct artwork from a folder of pictures (if that's what you mean?).

Thank you.

Ok great I will try the new version, how do i install it?

Marekkon5 commented 1 year ago

Same as normal release, just download it from the Actions tab on Github.

My bad i missed it, got it now!

With regards to the local files what I meant was it implamented a piece of generic artwork if it couldn't find the correct one but to be honest this may not achieve what I wanted to achieve, I wanted a way to be able to search the files with no artwork via finder so maybe a better option would be to add a searchable tag like [NO ART FOUND] so I can identify the offended mp3s without needing to move the files to another location.

I know the guys who own/run the mashup so I could help facilitate a conversation about that if its something that could be done without the need for an account.

its a real shame there isn't some way to reliably add soundcloud as there is alot of content on there that we all use that isn't commerically availbale anywhere else.

https://www.allmusic.com could also be a great source, I know myself its one of the place where i search credits/artwork for commerical releases, also amazon, tidal, ifpi & soundexchange

For the local files: you can probably filter if the files are missing the artwork tag or use tools like mp3tag to make a "missing artwork" field. 1T won't do that, because niche, specific.

The Mashup: it would however had to be accessible to everyone, which I don't think is something they'd want to do.

AllMusic: we might consider adding it, however it has only little metadata available.

TommyMcMusic commented 1 year ago

Ive reached out to the guys at the mashup to gauge their interest, if its something they are interested in or could facilitate, i'll get back to you! :)

TommyMcMusic commented 1 year ago

So the guys got back and said the users would have to create a guest account to utilise the site for meta data, im going to send over his email so you guys can discuss

TommyMcMusic commented 1 year ago

How can I send you the email privately?

TommyMcMusic commented 1 year ago

Also another idea, scraping meta data from onetagger users for onetagger to act as a source in itself, a user built community source

Marekkon5 commented 1 year ago

Privacy invasion, requires servers, so rather not.

Alos another request, is there a way to specify multiple folders to be scanned instead of a parent folder and all its subfolders? Id like to scan many folders in one session but only the folders I want to be scanned, am i making sense?

Marekkon5 commented 1 year ago

Hello, it does make sense, however it would require a bigger rewrite, so I recommend putting all the folders you wanna scan into one folder or tagging folder by folder.

Any way to take lyrics from Spotify?

Marekkon5 commented 1 year ago

Spotify is Musixmatch.
