The term "group-specific mean" should really be "cell-specific mean" due to normalization, consider replacing it with the mathematical expression. Also consider mentioning somewhere that the plate-specific effect refers to the plate- and gene-specific effect. Probably should also mention that the residuals become more similar, rather than the counts themselves.
