cant load scran #106

Hey, when I try to load the package, I get the following error

There's not enough detail there to help. Posting the exact command you used to install scran and the output of BiocManager::valid() may enable people to help you.

Hey, I uninstalled the package and now installation doesn't work anymore

BiocManager::install("scran")
'getOption("repos")' replaces Bioconductor standard repositories, see '?repositories' for details

replacement repositories:

I'm guessing you're on one of the newer Macs (e.g., M1 or M2). For reasons unknown to me, BioC's pre-built Arm64 binaries for scran are stuck at 1.26.0, while everything else is at 1.26.1. (See here.) So, the simple solution is to answer "no" at Do you want to install from sources the package which needs compilation? (Yes/no/cancel).

Looking at the error message, the real problem seems to be that edgeR is failing to load, not scran.

Unfortunately, I have no idea why this is happening. Best ask on the support site.
