6 years ago OK, it turned out to be relatively easy to find the missing details once I had got an internet connection. Should be done now. Does someone want to have a look and see if it makes any sense?
It looks like netlify is getting stuck running jekyll serve on the build server. I don't know what's controlling that, but I think it should run jekyll build and then let netlify serve it.
