Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Own a first generation device
2. Try

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Everything goes well until openiboot when it wont go in scroll mode

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
iPhodroid 0.5 R1-0.6 R5, iOS 3.1.2 on iPhone 2G/1st gen.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Try 0.6 R7 and remember to choose on the first screen your device 2G or 3G.
I've reported some people owning for example a 2G and did choose 3G on a
mistake and Scroll Mode wont work. Let me know.

Still doesn't work with r7 and r8. Admit it iPhodroid id still just a dream for
2g users. The whole 2g thing is fake. Until you show me proof of a 2g running
the latest build I am no longer going to try to do this.

I have 2g 3.1.2 JB and unlock with PWnage tool. Install with
iPhoDroid_0.6beta_R1.zip (Last Week) Install successful and run well (But
battery drain fast and heat at the back).

Before that I have try JB with BlackRain but failed to install iphodroid.
Thanks sergiomcfly for this iphodroid project : ) Anyway in future can we also
run Android 2.X too?

still doesn't work with pwnage tool. My results from hours of testing: iPhone
2G doesn't work jailbroken with redsn0w, backra1n, or PWnage tool using v.0.5
R1 - v.0.6 R10. Please fix this bug, with this bug nothing works.

My specs:
iPhone 2G with version 3.1.2
Jailbreak: blackra1n, redsn0w, PWnage tool
Computer: PPC iMac G5 10.5.8 Leopard
Version: 0.5-0.6 R10
Problem: Everything works until I get to the Openiboot step where the iPhone
just goes into connect to itunes or a picture of Steve Jobs on PWnage tool.
Solution: Don't try (I.E. doesn't have a solution yet)

Please fix this.

when going to scroll mode it starts scroll mode in the phone but not in the
screen and the iMac, and stops the scrolling there in.. ----welcome to OpenIboot

if you have openiboot installed, scroll mode wont work. It's normal sometimes
dont sync, just hit try again. if you dont get it on the 3rd time, we must see
whats going on in there

I'm now having this issue as well. Everything works fine until the application
tries to install openiboot. After going into scroll mode, the iphone window
and terminal window are no longer in sync (in fact, the terminal window shows
nothing at all, unless I highlight the window, then I can see some text), and I
get as far as the "Welcome To OPENIBOOT" message, and then everything grinds to
a halt. I've left it sit for about 30 minutes and nothing has happened.
iPhoDroid doesn't recognize I've gone into scroll mode either, so there's no
"Try Again" button.

USE REDSNOW AND TRY IT THAT WAY. ALSO IS THERE NO SUPPORT FOR 4.0 ON THE 2G?
LIKE YOU CAN UPDATE TO 4.0 AT ALL? IF SO THEN UPGRADE TO 4.0 AND JAILBREAK WITH
REDSNOW 0.9.5 BETA 5 THEN RUN IPHODROID. PLEASE REPLY WITH RESULTS

Sorry, iOpenboot installation after waiting 3-5 minutes works fine, then it
reboot.
So it open iOpenBoot windows to select Android Os and after that I see console
writing and it stop again on ftl:restore scanning virtual block 5000-5999 and
it doesn't boot Android

I am on an iPhone 2G. iOS4 is only for 3G (with limitations), 3GS and iPhone
4. From what I've read, Redsn0w 0.9.5b5 is only for people with officially
activated iPhones. I use T-Mobile, therefore I rely on an unlock to use my
phone. I don't think Redsn0w 0.9.5b5 is going to work for me, and I'm not
willing to try it if there's potential for me to lose my unlock.

As a side note, I did to a clean install & jailbroke/unlocked with PwnageTool
3.5 on 3.1.3 FW and got the same results. Installs fine until I get to
"Welcome to openiboot" section, and then it just stops. 30 minutes later, it's
still in that same spot.

I completed an iphodroid installation on an iPhone 2g jailbroken w/ pwnage
tool, but am having issues w/ openIboot. I have had one successful boot into
android, however the touchscreen didn't function.

On a reboot of the device, I can no longer access openIboot to attempt to
launch android. As mentioned above of course scroll mode no longer works
either. Any idea?

I have the exact same problem than bron.joshua.

IPhone 2G 3.1.3
Jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.4 using 3.1.2 firmware
Installation hangs on "WELCOME TO OPENIBOOT" and nothings happens on the mac
side. (the SCROLL MODE popup remains).

What should i do to fix this ? How can i boot into Android ?

had the same issue as belgourari.
I was able to put it back in recovery mode, where i get an option to choose to
boot iDroid or iPhone. I chose iDroid (with the volume key). A bunch of stuff
scrolled by, the Linux kernel booted up (could see the Tux logo on the top,
with a lot more stuff scrolling by). However, it got stuck in the scroll and
started heating up. Left it like that, but kept getting ext2fs and inode
errrors, so gave up. Will retry with 3.1.2 pwned.
