Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback @realgooseman, really appreciate it.
For example, users that don't know what CODABAR is won't typically need to create one. That being said, I have considered a "Help" or "How To" page either in-app, here in GitHub, or on https://barcodrod.io. Will need to think about this one a bit.
Tagging as 'enhancement' until I've started some tangible work on these.
1. The only app catalogue website I know of other than AlternativeTo is ProductHunt. But it's less focused on FOSS software and is more generalized in its categories.
2. Localization and project awareness are two good ways to attract more users. So as the user base grows the demand for localization will grow naturally.
3. Right, makes sense. An in-app help guide could help.
@realgooseman I published barcodrod.io to AlternativeTo here: https://alternativeto.net/software/barcodrod-io/about/
Will set up separate tracking items for the other two asks (localization + usage tutorial/previews) and close this one out.
Hi @MarkHopper24,
Great little app, nice work. I would like to suggest some features/improvements, let me know what you think :
Visibility
It was kinda hard to find Barcodrod, so as a free and open-source app it would be useful to publish it on websites like AlternativeTo to popularize the app and get more visibility. I could publish it myself if you allow me too.
Localization
Compatiblity with multi-lingual interfaces. By setting up a Chrowdin page and letting people contribute in translation ?
Image Preview in "Create"
The barcode names are confusing, showing an visual image preview when selecting a barcode type would make it easier to identify them for people who're not used to the names.
